We are excited to share a new surgical technique animation demonstrating intramedullary screw fixation using the headless bioabsorbable Inion CompressOn™ Screw. The video provides a step-by-step overview of the procedure for treating an extra-articular fracture of the distal metacarpal.

The animation provides a structured overview of each operative step, from initial reduction to final fixation. Viewers are guided through:

  1. Reduction of the fragment with a K-wire
  2. Depth measurement using a depth gauge
  3. Creation of a threaded bone channel with the Inion CompressOn™ Drill Tap Instrument
  4. Irrigation of the screw channel
  5. Attachment and alignment of the screw on the screwdriver
  6. Full insertion of the headless bioabsorbable screw
  7. Removal of the K-wire

Once implanted, the Inion CompressOn™ Screw gradually resorbs in 2–4 years.
