The Inion FreedomPin™ Bioabsorbable Fixation Pin is a strong and versatile resorbable orthopedic pin intended for the fixation of:

  • Bone fractures
  • Osteotomies
  • Arthrodeses
  • Bone grafts

The pin is available in four diameters: 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm, 2.7 mm, and 3.2 mm, enabling surgeons to select the appropriate fixation solution for a wide range of orthopaedic procedures.

Why choose a bioabsorbable orthopedic pin?

Traditional metallic K-wires and fixation implants may require secondary removal procedures and may introduce long-term complications such as implant migration, stress shielding, or imaging artefacts. The Inion FreedomPin™ resorbable orthopedic pin is designed to overcome these challenges.

Key clinical benefits

The updated brochure highlights several important advantages of the bioabsorbable orthopedic pin technology:

  • Maintenance of accurate bone alignment during healing
  • Avoidance of implant removal surgery
  • Reduced patient trauma and healthcare costs
  • No permanent implant left in the body
  • Reduced risk of implant migration and stress shielding
