Excellent Employee of the Year

Marika Manni
Post-Market Surveillance and Clinical Affairs Manager
Meet our Excellent Employee of the year 2025: Marika Manni, Inion’s Post-Market Surveillance and Clinical Affairs Manager! Since working as our PMS & Clinical Affairs Manager, Marika has managed to establish Inion’s first sponsored clinical study in Finland and has been able to expand the opportunities even further with additional studies underway. These studies are essential for maintaining the CE marking of Inion’s latest products. Additionally, she has played a significant role in developing and improving Inion’s procedures and internal clinical data management.
As a PMS and Clinical Affairs manager, Marika has two main areas of responsibility. The first area focuses on post-market surveillance, which includes monitoring Inion products used in clinical settings worldwide. This involves preparing annual reports and continuously evaluating product performance and safety. The second area centers on clinical research, especially post-market clinical studies sponsored by Inion. Additionally, she contributes to product development as needed by providing clinical expertise.
Her demanding role as a PMS/Clinical Affairs Manager at Inion requires consistency, strong analytical skills, and the ability to contextualize large volumes of clinical information. She has strong medical writing skills and hands-on experience in planning and conducting clinical studies in accordance with ISO 14155:2020. This includes e.g. preparing essential study documentation, managing submission and approval processes with ethics committees and national competent authority, and collaborating closely with study sites. She is also experienced in performing systematic literature searches and reviews, and in synthesizing findings to support post-market clinical follow-up and regulatory documentation effectively. With a medical degree and a few years of clinical practice, Marika brings a solid understanding of real-world clinical needs and patient outcomes. Additionally, she has studied business administration and actually joined the Inion team in 2019 as a Sales and Marketing Coordinator. She has worked in her current position since 2022. Marika was originally interested in joining Inion as it offered the opportunity to integrate her clinical background with business studies in the interesting field of bioabsorbable implants.
Marika is a highly valued member of the Inion team and a trusted point of support for her colleagues. She is frequently consulted on complex clinical questions and is always willing to help. Not only does she bring expertise, but also a positive and encouraging energy to the working environment. She enjoys working in the challenging field of medical devices with her beloved colleagues:
What motivates me most is working with all my talented colleagues. Being surrounded by this level of expertise is truly inspiring. For instance, Inion has been at the forefront of completing MDR-related requirements, despite the highly complex and demanding regulatory environment for Class III surgical implants. In addition to the high level of expertise across Inion, the atmosphere has always been really supportive and welcoming among collegues which I value a lot: it is easy to talk to anyone, ask for support and collaborate openly. What I especially enjoy is that while we work professionally and effectively together, we can also have fun as a team and share laughs often.
I also highly value the collaboration with medical professionals at the hospitals I have had the privilege to work with. Their insights are invaluable. I also appreciate their understanding toward the regulatory environment surrounding medical devices and their recognition of the value of working together to make safe and effective medical devices available to patients.
Outside of work, Marika says she spends much of her time with her family, often at the ice hockey rink with her spouse supporting their kids, drinking (too much) coffee and swapping stories with other hockey parents. As a more recent development you may also meet Marika at downhill skiing centers around Pirkanmaa trying to learn to ski again after 25-year break as an effort to keep up with her two boys. As Marika’s professional role is highly analytical, she enjoys expressing her creative side in her free time for example by managing social media content for a junior ice hockey team. 🏒 She also returns to her art hobby from time to time.
Congratulations Marika on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for your outstanding contribution to Inion and the entire team.
Excellent New Employee of the Year

Oksana Vuorela
Customer Service and Sourcing Specialist
Meet Oksana Vuorela, our Excellent New Employee of the Year 2025! Oksana joined Inion in March 2025 and immediately became an essential part of our team. She has demonstrated remarkable problem-solving skills, strong commitment, and a hands-on attitude. Her attitude is actually one of a kind: Oksana approaches even the most challenging tasks and unexpected situations with a smile and a calm, can-do mindset.
Oksana works as a Customer Service and Sourcing Specialist, ensuring efficient procurement and supply operations. She manages purchases and orders, collaborates closely with suppliers of raw materials and different components, and monitors inventory levels to help ensure their availability. By analysing stock data and previous years’ sales, she supports well-informed ordering decisions and works closely with our production planner to enable smooth planning and timely deliveries. Her role involves cross-functional collaboration across teams, and she also provides back-up support for customer service when needed.
Oksana has an IT engineering background and extensive experience in export sales, which has provided a strong foundation for her current role at Inion. Known for her exceptional accuracy with numbers, Oksana even considered a career in accounting at one point.
Oksana has quickly familiarised herself with Inion’s products and industry. One great example of this is how she joined our clinical training event last October. Despite having no prior experience in an operating room environment, Oksana assisted the surgeons with products and instruments in a foreign language with the confidence and composure of an experienced OR nurse. She impressed everyone with her remarkable ability to absorb new information. Her strong interpersonal skills also left a lasting impression on the visiting surgeons and on the whole team.
Oksana likes to say to herself, “If you start something, make sure you finish it properly.” The same focused mindset is visible outside work as well. Oksana is an international judge in single and pair skating and enjoys officiating at competitions in Finland and abroad. ⛸️ Oksana steps once a week to the ice to practice herself in synchronized skating and also participating local competitions a few times a year. In her free time, she also loves supporting and following her children’s hobbies.
Thank you Oksana for being a part of the Inion team and congratulations on this well-deserved recognition as Excellent New Employee of the Year!
